Sarah Amedoro, Psy.D., SEP, CYT
Owner and Founder (She/Her)
Dr. Sarah received the insight to "Live Your Truth," about a year and a half into her spiritual awakening and healing journey, while simultaneously completing her doctoral internship and first yoga teacher training. She describes finding her own truth as a journey of discovery; leading to a new way of understanding, and engaging with, herself, others, the world, and beyond. Through this journey she found the power and beauty of unabashedly embodying her newfound beliefs and values. This process supported her in re-wiring old patterns, releasing attachments to being understood by others, and letting go of cultural scripts and expectations in order to create her own unique, authentic, heart-led life. This is the meaning of "Live Your Truth."

Dr. Sarah is a holistic, integrative psychologist. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, a specialization in neuropsychology, is a somatic experiencing practitioner, and a certified yoga teacher. She has completed a variety of clinical practicums placements, and a variety of eastern and earth-based trainings. You can find additional education and training information here.
Dr. Sarah integrates aspects of many contemporary psychology modalities, including; cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, internal family systems, interpersonal therapy, positive psychology and transpersonal psychology. She conceptualizes disorders and presentations of dysregulation from a Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory framework, and views all individuals through a lens of both wholeness and ongoing transformation. Dr. Sarah often integrates yogic and earth-based practices to support regulation, presence, acceptance, expression, and reflection.

Dr. Sarah specifically works with individuals that have experienced single incident or complex trauma, and those experiencing disorders of dysregulation; both emotional, including anxiety or depression, and cognitive, including ADHD and neurodivergencies. Dr. Sarah enjoys working with elders, individuals that qualify for disability, those navigating life transitions [initiations] or grief portals, individuals experiencing chronic pain or illness, and anyone that is interested in finding a deeper, more intentional relationship with their nervous system.

In her free time, you'll likely find Dr. Sarah praising the earth and unseen world through devotional song. She also enjoys connecting with friends, dancing, gardening, ritual and ceremony, hiking, swimming in sacred mountain waters, snuggling her boofs [dogs], and learning about astrology.
Shakeenna Faircrest
Office Administrator (She/Her)
As the office administrator, Shakeenna is an integral part of the team at Live Your Truth. She navigates the complexities of the insurance world for us, and continually advocates for our providers and the individuals served. We are so grateful for all that she does, and are incredibly blessed to have her on our team.

Shakeenna has a wealth of experience as a teacher and healer, working with people in many facets of their life's journey. Attaining a BS and Masters in recreation led her to become an exercise physiologist with HealthSouth Rehabilitation for several years. She then obtained her massage therapy license and opened her own practice in WNC in 1994.
Although she had used meditation & other spiritual practices, working with the body, mind, and soul through massage therapy, deepened her connection with self and expanded her perspective on life. While she used a combination of art and science to offer massage, she worked with a local domestic violence/sexual assault non profit as a community educator. She also worked with educators at the local university, high school and middle school to prevent date rape and abusive relationships, and created a curriculum for middle grade students. Educating law enforcement, court personnel, teachers, ministers, medical personnel and the community at large became one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of her life. This journey tested her faith and many religious/spiritual beliefs, yet time and time again the strength of the human spirit shined brightly. Towards the end of her 10 years as a massage therapist she began business consulting and teaching small business owners.
Then a strange and curvy road appeared as she became president of a microbrewery. Bookkeeping, marketing, customer service, hospitality and event planning consumed this time of her life and she needed something that nurtured her. She chose a path of Priestess, Magdalene, and Hermeticist, and became an Ordained Shamanic Minister. This spiritual path connected her with like minded people and supported her in reconnecting herself to the healer and explorer that she is.
Through trainings and certifications she attempted to start a couple of businesses with no success. Her mother's health began to decline, and she could no longer live alone, so Shakeenna became a primary caretaker. However, she needed income and something that she could do while taking care of her mother. Another psychologist needed help with her growing business, and hired Shakeenna as office manager. Working behind the scenes, supporting this important work and another human being doing their life's work fit perfectly for this time in her journey.

When Dr. Sarah asked for help with Live Your Truth, there was no hesitation to support another psychologist offering their expertise and passion in this all important work of supporting folks on their journey through life. In her personal time, Shakeenna sings with an acapela choir, Ubuntu, wanders the vast nature of WNC via hiking, enjoys cooking, and explores all things moonology.
